Shocking as it sounds, I do believe there's a deadline tonight, something we haven't had to deal with in the first two clues. Let's try to keep the perfect protect streak alive. As far as I can see, we've gotten two things out of this clue- Sounds of Music (which I think- not completely sure- was talked about on chat, though evidently not on here) and Meteorology. I've done some research and as far as I can see there are only two active members that have done/will be doing both of these events, myself and robotman09. (If anyone else fits this category let us know)

Since I'm leaving later today for a high school football game, before I go I'll put in my protect- and unless someone comes up with the answer to the clue, I think my most logical option would be to protect myself, based on the above evidence. It's good to keep considering other people who have done these events for other protects. Among the other officers, I know robodude does meteorology, but I'm not sure what events the rest of you have done.

2, I was excited about sounds of music until I realized it was Div. C, a lot of people know.
3, You can hear a Sharktopus. They rawr.
4, I don't want to die.
5, I think the Assassinator wants me dead.

Yes, well, this is the end of the game for me. I knew I wouldn't last long- I was told by RandomPerson that he figured it would be me before Alpha sent the PM in initial discussions. By the way, thanks for the chance AlphaTauri

Because I knew I wouldn't last long, I just wanted to have fun with this game. Last time I was so serious about winning that my clues- and the game as a whole- suffered. So I decided to take this chance to have fun writing some poetry and make a few subtle statements about the game.

First, the clues:
The clue part of the first sonnet:

So I thought and thought but nothing would come
Could I be tired? I needed more sleep
I took some naps and it came in a hum
The victims death was a promise to keep
As I slept a voice said seventy-four
I knew in an instant the next to fall
In front of you is the victim of lore
But maybe you can not see it at all

Well, robodude got this one pretty easily. As I already explained it, I won't go into detail now.

The second sonnet:

A minor setback and ahead I ford
Traveling from the land of maple sap
Heading far one could say in a way
Ask another, did I travel at all?
And end of a third is what I may say
Now later, into a trance I did fall
Four fish, a bear, and a snake I did see
I knew this was the next target but how?
And then the meaning was made clear to me
And I shall strike less than a week from now

This one was supposed to be one of the more difficult clues in the game, and then IdahoSciGuy discovered Google. There are subtle clues pointing to IdahoSciGuy (or more along the lines of Idaho, the state)- First of all, the traveling part. You all thought that the maple sap had something to do with it- it absolutely did not, it was only a rhyme. And while you were talking about that, most of you completely missed the big hint, the word "ford" at the end of line three, which refers to rivers or streams. "Heading far one could say in a way"- That's going far East to West from NY "Ask another, did I travel at all?"- Ask another direction (North to South)- and I didn't travel much at all. "And end of a third is what I may say"- Again pointing you to the end of the third line, though that may be hard to figure out. And the fish, bear, and snake, of course, pointing to rivers in Idaho. I was rather pleased that no one was coming close to getting this clue- and then I started talking to IdahoSciGuy on chat and he shredded it in about two minutes.

And the last sonnet clue:

As I step off the plane I feel brand new
The light is bright, I gaze up at the sun
It inspires me. And now I know who
Will be first to die yes this is the one
There must be something in this air I breathe
There's nothing I can't do now that I'm here
And I will feel this way until I leave
The clue is here it's something you can hear

During the early part of the game I heard the song "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z- don't get me wrong here, I don't like hip-hop at all, but I heard it, and it wasn't terrible, and it was about New York, and I thought- trajectoryroxs lives in New York... this song is about New York... the stereotypical nerd doesn't listen to hip-hop... clue time! So, if you listen to the chorus of this song, you should get most of the references.

I tried to make a few small statements about the game as well- first of all, what's the deal with the quoting of the clue?

Second, I've gotten quite annoyed with some of the clues people are coming out with:

Let's see, there are three or four cows, the sky is blue and there is one cloud there, so it's a fair day, two of the mountains appear to be snow-capped, this picture was taken on March 3rd, the photographer was named John Doe, and it was taken for his aunt's 63rd birthday. Obviously, the victim is zyzzyva98.

There are too many ciphers and image clues where you're thinking, what? What am I supposed to be doing? So this round, I just made all my clues words- poetry, in fact. You don't need ciphers or images to make good clues, and I hope I made that clear.

That's about it. How long has it been since we've had a game that's lasted shorter than a week? Honestly, I didn't expect to get past the first clue. Glad you liked my poetry, trajectoryroxs- but I did mess up some of my grammar to sound different. My grammar wasn't that great. I couldn't mess it up too much, so I had to walk the line- I guess I didn't. Once again, PM me your choice trajectoryroxs and we can get #62 started.
