Okay, so it's a lot bigger than New Paltz then. I think I can deal.

West Point is considerably larger than New Paltz, but the issue is mostly that there's one building- the field house, I think it's called- that isn't near anything else and is all the way down a hill. I had to sprint down there for Trajectory right after Envi Chem... bit of an adventure. Also, apparently carrying the Trajectory down there was just tons of fun (I had an event during impound, so I wasn't actually involved, but I was regaled with stories afterwards).

We always have the bus bring the devices down. There's a parking lot right behind the building.

They were at the same time for everybody. i'm not sure why, but the ID events are almost always scheduled at the same time as each other for States.

oh, that really stinks; we thought it was just us. my fossils partner and i were both planning on doing ornithology again, but at states, i guess not...

Well, do you have any experience with Bottle Rockets? Whichever team you end up on will only make you do the event if you have the most experience with it (that is, the most experience of all the people on your team who don't have conflicts).
