Re: 2011 Events.
you have to build an aquifer at the event with certain materials, and you also have to known concepts about ground water, and be able to explain certain concepts such as recharge, saturated zone, etc. with your aquifer at the competition. if you're interested in the event you should look for rules in old rulebooks, because they should be similar to what the 2011 rules are.
Events for 2011:
Ornithology
, Fossils, Ecology, Microbe Mission, Dynamic Planet
Ornithology

Re: 2011 Events.
It seems like for C the Maryland site favors Time over wind, but the summer camp favors Wind. And thoughts? I heard that the nats event proctors for Time said the event was going away for another 10 years. So perhaps we will hve 2 physics-lab-like events, Optics AND Wind power.
When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.

Aquifer was the best! So much fun, interesting, and helps with demonstration skills as well.ichaelm wrote:Awesome Aquifer?? Really? That was like the worst event ever is 2007. Good thing I won't be in B division anymore!

Not so thrilled about it being helicopters instead of gliders...

Re: 2011 Events.
Nor am I. Really favors the better funded and connected teams (sorta like Wright Stuff, but with less support from the "pros").
