Re: Ecology B/C
I agree. I thought last year's test was pretty good. It seems pretty likely that someone else wrote the test this year. The writer seemed to know/ care much more about the taiga than grasslands. Sadly, that might mean the same person will be writing the test next year for taiga and tundra. The national cometition probably has the widest range of preparedness of any competition, it ought to have a well made test with a good balance of easy, medium, and hard questions.
When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.

I recognized my writer. She used the same style, except that her tests are usually long.

Ugh, that test was too easy. I hate easy tests. They butterfly me off.

Re: Ecology B/C
Funny, those are the biomes that I would have LOVED to do. But no, I didn't even get to do Ecology until my senior year (it was deserts and grasslands) at Nationals, only because it was the same time as WIDI and the same 2 kids did both events. And I ended up with 5th.frogzorz wrote:Ugh, that test was too easy. I hate easy tests. They butterfly me off.NOOOO THREE YEARS OF AQUATIC BIOMES! WAHHHH!gyourkoshaven wrote:Via the Event CD: DP:

Re: Ecology B/C
Yeah, aquatic biomes are some of the most fun. Limnology has some really cool stuff in it and there are some amazing creatures in the oceans. Coral reefs are some of the most diverse biomes in the world. I would much sooner take any of the marine biomes. Taiga and Tundra is going to be... cold. There isn't a lot of diversity at the high latitudes. Lots of plants... and lichen. So, regardless of your biome preferences, take my approach and learn about ALL the biomes. But of course focus on the featured biomes.

Re: Ecology B/C
funny, paleo. real funny.
but on a lighter note, i always did like the tundra, and this seems like next year will be a good test.
