I totally agree. I loved that event! And it was so much better than herpetology. Personally, I would like an event based on marine biology, and it might be interesting if they added a math event.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats

at one point ecology was focused on marine bio, but it was still more ecology than marine biology

Changing trajectory from elastic energy to chemical energy is (maybe) a bit too rich...

I also think that a math event at the science olympiad would be a lot of fun because math is the easiest class in school for me.

I'd like to see them keep reach for the stars and amphibians next year but that's just my opinion. I also think they should bring back mystery architecture. I'm probably not doing SO next year so it doesn't matter but even if i did i'd be in div C

The Periodic Table Quiz seemed interesting. Though it would be better if the rules changed it to a pen and paper test with like no resources instead of eliminating teams one by one.
