I highly doubt that would get a positive reception... not to mention that if you've uploaded your 3 scores already...you don't want an ad popping up every time you come to the site.

EDIT: I admit that I did not know about the score tracker, and will try to post build scores there now.

Also, the only other thing people can try posting is testings. Of course, this would apply primarily to the balsa event, seeing as non-balsa events don't usually break during testing, and so the competition scores and testing scores would be similar.

I think that the Score Tracker is great for building event scores, such as flight times, bridge efficiencies, and stuff like that, but it's kind of iffy when it comes to the study event tests. There's so much difference between individual tests that it would be hard to standardize. I've had study tests that were really easy, so the scores were really high, like 80%-90%. But there were others that are really difficult, so the scores were a lot lower, like 50%. You could maybe link it to the test exchange, that way everyone would be taking tests of the same difficulty level so the results would be more standard. You could also allow users to specify which invitational their scores were from, so others who also attended the meet could find the scores and compare them to their own score on the same test.

2010~Dynamic (1st Regional, 1st State) ~Egg-O (x, 6th) ~Birds (4th, 5th) ~Remote (1st, 1st)

We already have the ability to tell the competition, its the comments section when adding the score that is the easiest way to tell the competition venue.

I think for more people to use the score tracker, we need to promote it ourselves. The wiki probably gets many hits because when somebody asks a question, many times we direct them toward the wiki. If we want the score tracker to be used more, when someone posts a result, we need to encourage them to post it in the score tracker. Either that, or make the icon ten times larger with bright flashing lights and a note that says, "Clicking here will definitely NOT give you a virus!" although that may backfire...

 I don't think that would work. But if you have a result, go to the score tracker and post it and see how you compare to others!

I think you're right. If we ourselves say in the threads to all the newbies: "Use the Score Tracker" every time somebody asks "What efficiencies are people getting?". it would popularize it. On the other hand, it's a ton easier to do for the wiki; it's much more versatile.

I've talked about karma before, but I think adding karma would make it a bit more like something like facebook (with "liking" things, not social networking) than a discussion, in a way. I'd rather keep the climate a discussion.

It would not be displayed on the post at all, you would just have list in your control panel of all the times you've gotten Karma and the reason. You would still have to post in the thread for anyone to know you supported the idea.

That sounds like an improvement over what I had thought it would be like. I'm starting to like the idea a bit.
