Is fossils driving anyone else insane?

Yesh. fossils is totally insane! there is so much to remember; this is my 2nd year in this event and i's still annoying.

Um, you don't really need to remember that much if you have a good binder...

but flipping through a huge binder and looking for the info is annoying, so remembering as much as you can is still good

MY binder last year was immense, but I memorized almost everything. The binder was a failsafe.

That really depends on you. You can make a binder with everything that you don't know. Or you can make a binder with everything that you know and more. The crucial thing about binders is that they have to be organized. The content of the binder is all up to you, but you need to organize so that you and/or your partner can navigate it quickly during competition. Even if you have the best binder content-wise, but you have bad organization, you won't be able to find any information during competition.

Look through the forum. There has been quite a bit of discussion on that topic over time. Your best bet is to read through everything, and see what you know, and what you'll need.

One tip I would like to add is, make sure that your binder is only as large as it needs to be. I mean don’t make the same mistake I did of trying to put every peace of info that you find in the binder I had 400-500 pages in there, that’s way to many in my opinion. This year it’s around 100 pages all tabbed and I know the location of every peace of info in the book. Some people like having large folders but to me simple are better than large and complex.

Yeah, mine is very concise, with 2 specimens per page. Instead of copying and pasting paragraphs, I sifted through information and I put the important stuff on a template (age, habitat, diet, etc). This way, it's very easy to find specimens and get info about them.

I just posted the NYS Invitational Fossils Event from 2009. There are two files: one is the event with answer sheet and answer key; the other are images of the specimens for each station.

However, I don't know where it uploaded to! There is no Fossils folder in the Test Exchange for 2010. I checked the recent activity and it appears to have been uploaded, but I can't find the files.

Can someone help me post it to the test exchange?
