O haha...i get it...well, we prove theorems in our Geometry class all the time, just using our creativity, no the original proof, so it didnt make much sense to me at first...

Allow me to explain.

Fermat was a mathematician that discovered that a^n+b^n=/=c^n when n=/=2. EDIT: I FAIL! "It's actually that a^n+b^n=c^n (i.e. a Diophantine equation) has no integer, nontrivial solutions (non-trivial means basically no 0s) for n>2" (thanks winneratlife! ). Recently, this was finally proven, but using methods not known to mathematicians during the time of Fermat in the 17th century, namely the modularity conjecture for elliptical curves. We know that Fermat discovered this, but we have no idea what his proof was, since all he left was this in the margin of one of his books:
Fermat wrote:I have discovered a truly marvelous proof that it is impossible to separate a cube into two cubes, or a fourth power into two fourth powers, or in general, any power higher than the second into two like powers. This margin is too narrow to contain it.

This video parodies this "proof."

O i knew wat Fermat's theorem was...it came up on a state math competition once, but i just didnt get it at first because when he said "Fermat's proof for Fermat's Theorem", i was just thinking "proof for Fermat's Theorem" which was discovered in 1995...but yes, Fermat never actually showed us his marvelous proof....

Rated X ones won't...I think.

Of course, they may get you banned/in trouble, but that's not my problem
