i'm using half inch wood, it's pretty durable (i can't ID the type of wood, but it's kinda heavy).

Maybe change it to balsa wood now? Kinda scared though that balsa would break, it's extremely easy to break, which is rather unfortunate.

the best chassis material is erector set. it is adjustable and easy to built. it is also precut.

my battery buggy absolutely hates me and my partner. the motors apparently melt without even getting hot.

that's weird, we do the same thing but our motor is still ok.

try changing or testing different type of motors.

and just wondering, but what is your chassis made out of?

are you using the erector motor? because that's what we're using and it's ok. doesn't seem to have problems. and is the motor melting or are the wires melting?

i'm actually just thinking about buying the diamond patterened 2*1 ft aluminum and cutting that/drilling it to make a okay, really lightweight chassis.

the motor is melting. the wires burn as a result.
