Since your other note already says your above 7.0 gm, consider moving the wing for or aft instead. Same benefit/result, less weight gain.

If you need to add mass, always add it at the extreme, very front, or very back (unless your plane is underweight) to minimize the added weight. Note, you may want to do this to find the best cg location, and then move the wing.

Illusionist In regard to your question about increasing your stab area without increasing your wing area.
Maybe others can weigh in on your question, but let me give you my take. On a duration model
airplane the challenge is to make it fly as long as possible. Therefore both the wing and the stab
contribute a lifting force. While it would benefit to increase the wing area, you most certainly can
use a larger stab with your existing wing. In order to benefit from the larger stab you should be able to move the center of gravity a little further rearward. Now your airplane should be able to fly a little slower, and therefor longer. You also might be able to fly with a smaller thickness of rubber, which
usually translates into more winds and a longer flight. Good luck

Hi, I'm fairly new to this event and im doing it for states which is in 3 weeks. I'm wondering what the times would be for the top 6 placements? I heard that a school near us got 2:30.

Did you (or anyone else) fly the small wing cord for the bonus at State?
Just wondering....

Thanks

My plane currently can get about 2:18 in a 25-30 foot gym. Does anyone have any ideas for improvement, as I don't know how to maximize flight time if there are more possibilites, all winds are used.

Chantofox, if all winds are used, especially if you are running out of winds and gliding down, then you could probably use thinner rubber with more winds. Are you getting right up to the ceiling? How long does your plane cruise at the same height before starting to descend?

Will anyone tell me about how many winds, torch, wing alignment should be on a Freedom Flights plane?

For winds, check out the rubber thread. For torque, it depends on how stiff the motor stick is and how tall the site is. For wing setting, all you can do is experiment. Since they have a fixed stabilizer, you could start with the wing at 0 incidence, then work it up 1mm at a time to check the flight and cruise. Bottom line is no one can really tell you how your plane will fly best. I saw 6 Freedom Flights models at the regional I supervised, and no 2 flew exactly alike.

I tested my plane, and my best flight was 1:33. On the same plane in the same place last time, it was getting a consistent 2 minutes. Bah. It's variables like that that are making me like Elevated Bridge more and more.
