My partner and I always ask the event director. They've never had a problem with it. We have our fossil pages hole punched and tied at the top with a piece of yarn into each Class and then stuffed into a page protector so we can take it out and flip through it really quickly. But I'm not sure if we're doing that this time.

We're planning on taking our book, put paper or something over the pages/fossils that we don't need and paste the reference pages that we made (small version, of course) onto them next to/opposite of the page so that she can take care of binder, I can do book.

He thinks mainly that because we have received one the last 4 years together that we will automatically get one or then this get my coach and me mad because I have to end up doing everything. This teammate is has been caught playing his 360 instead of going to practice, that was really bad for him my coach ended up messaging him while he was playing. But luckily my partner for Fossils is working as hard as I am preparing which is good, I know how you feel being stuck with everything, its hard but you will be rewarded somehow for your hard work.

Dude 6 ppl? Try more like 10 ppl...sooo many procrastinators. Im a freshman myself, but the sophomores and most of the juniors and seniors are just awfully lazy...i feel like yelling at them or something. Our coach tells them to get stuff done but they dont understand that state is a lot harder than regionals...i wish i could do like 5 events....better than giving a procrastinating medal hog who just does 5 events to get medals...

...back to fossils, has anyone ever gotten questions on cladistics? I wouldn't think it would happen, but I'm nervous that we will...

Is Annularia just the foliage of Calamites? If so, why are they listed separately on the list? Thanks in advance for your help!

We had a long discussion about this last year. Yes, they are obsolete taxa. No, I don't know why. More or less. Calamites refers to the bark, Annularia to the foliage.

Was there anything that anyone encountered on their test that kind of threw them off or wasn't on the rules??? Just wondering...

I had famous paleontologists which completely threw me off. The only one I knew was the guy who came up with some form or another of absolute dating... or maybe it was relative dating? His name seems to escape me right now :|
