One another question!
How about the potential energy, kinetic energy, and coefficient of kinetic friction?
Any help in this appreciated?
Thanks

Simple Machines DivisionB
Hi
Does anyone know if the "Gears" topic is included in the Simple Machines Division B of Science Olympiad 2021?
Thanks in advance

Re: Division B Charts/Tables
Hi SmartPenguin
Is the graph that we do in advance(at home) while we test our lever and submit to the supervisor during the competition?
I believe this could be used to calibrate the device during the competition?
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Thanks

Re: Rules Clarification on the Charts/Graphs
Hi
I am in Division B doing Simple Machines.
Regarding graph, is this something we can do at home after we build the lever to check our Class 1 lever for equilibrium and submit those graphs to the supervisor at the time of event? I know up to 3 graphs are required.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks ...

Re: Rules Clarification
Hi
For the lab, we will have to find
1) ratio of the masses , m1/m2 and m2/ m3.
2) 3 graphs each having 10 data points.
3) diagram
Things we do not do in the lab part
1) we do not have to find AMA, IMA, Efficiency like in Mr.Burleson's 4th video:
Thanks

Re: Machines B/C 4 Graphs and Data Tables?
Hi
1.What is the Recorded A/B, Recorded B/C, Actual A/B and Actual B/C? What is the difference between them Recorded and Actual?
2. And also how would you graph A/B and B/C as both are just single values that we receive from the calculation?
Thanks in Advance

Re: Ratio of masses, individual weight calculations(Division B)
Thank you so much. How about the data graphs? What should be on the x axis and the y axis?
Thanks

Ratio of masses, individual weight calculations(Division B)
Hi
I am a newbie at this event. For the division B, we need to find the ratio of the masses which means
Hang 2 masses A, B at a time. At equilibrium, by the law of moment, we can find the Mass A/Mass B ratio.
Similarly, for Mass Band Mass C and Mass B/Mass C ratio.
But how do we find the weights of ...
