Re: Protein Modeling C
Will I get points off if the model is not exactly 2 cm per amino acid? I couldn't find a long enough toober so I made it 1.5 cm per amino acid.

Re: Protein Modeling C
Hey guys, I finished my protein model for regionals but I have trouble trying to find ideas for "creative additions" to it. Does anyone know any good resources to get ideas for such additions? One person on this forum mentioned papers to look at but I have trouble finding them.

How to make my team better for next year?
Ok, my current science Olympiad team has 6 seniors who'll be graduating this year, so we'll hopefully be getting more freshman/sophomore members next year. What are some tips to, perhaps, motivate/strengthen the newcomers?

Re: Rocks & Minerals B/C
I don't know if this question was asked before but what are some common minerals/rocks I might be asked to identify in regionals? Like, are some mineral groups/rocks more likely to be tested on than others on the list? Im in division C btw

Re: Thermodynamics B/C
Thank you! On average, what's the ideal difference of temperature to make sure your device works? When I tested my device using 150 ml of 60 C water, the final temperature was 50 C Is this good?
That's about what I've been getting too.
Do you mean 60C before or after pouring the water in? I’ve ...

Re: Thermodynamics B/C
what equation do I use to predict the final temperature of the water during the event? Stupid question, I know.
You'll have to do lots of testing for your device first, but Newton's law of cooling is useful for predicting the temperature. However, making an equation/relation based on your own data ...
