What if the screw doesnt actually move at all, but rotates in place, using its threads to move a platform that it is screwed into more than 2cm?

Really the only thing i can think of doing is turning on a heating element inside a balloon with a sensitive switch very close to it, so that when the air heats up it pushes the switch. Does anyone else have any ideas they are willing to share?

Okay so I just realized that since the IMA is 7, it would require a weight to fall 70cm to lift something 10cm. The maximum height of the device is 60cm, so how am I going to pull the pulley up 10cm?
