Re: Simple Machines B/Compound Machines C

For Div B how fast are you guys finding the ratios for the 3 masses? My partner and I were able to find the ratios in about 30secs to 1 minute at our most recent competitions. I think it's pretty slow. . In all competitions we've gone to, almost all the teams have dominated in the test portion ...

Re: Science Olympiad 2014-2015 Events

I believe it's about time is replacing Shock Value. Sounds like quite an interesting event. Is there anyone in Div C that could give me more info on the event? If so just PM me.

Re: Entomology B/C

The only thing I can think of is a stigma, but that doesn't make sense because of the "an" in the question. It may have been a typo, but someone would have probably pointed it out if that was the case. I wouldn't have expected that from a nationals comp anyway. It pretty weird that they asked that ...

Re: Entomology B/C

The B test was very easy as well. However, there was a lot of anatomy, a topic that is rarely covered in the Audubon. I feel like our regionals competition was brutal compared to the nationals test. I received 2nd at state, and 10th at nationals. This was my 1st national tournament ever and I was ...

Re: 2014 National Tournament: University of Central Florida

Is the schedule on the nationals website final? I am in entomology and my partner is in ento, widi, rocks, and meteo. However, he has a huge event conflict with ento, meteo, and widi. Is this schedule final or is it a "rough draft"? Here's the link: http://www.scienceolympiad2014.com/schedule_master ...

Re: Entomology B/C

If it was an order like Protura, where no specific families are named, then I think you should know the most basic/most common family of those orders. Like Mantidae for Mantodea, etc. I think even if you don't, you should have enough time to quickly flip through your guide to find the family name ...
