Re: Scrambler C
does anyone know the range of scores for top 5 at nationals? Mr. Pratt, the event supervisor, will probably post the distances/times/scores for the top 10 scramblers sometime over the next couple days to this thread (at least that's what he did last year). I know we took 4th with something like a 2...

Re: BEST MOVIES!
I really enjoyed it. Emotional, of course, and it stayed true to the book. It's a good date movie, btwnxtscholar wrote:Anyone see The Fault in Our Stars? How was that?

Re: Bungee Drop C
Does anybody know if we are allowed to bring in data about our bungee? Equations for displacement, tables of displacement etc? Are we also allowed to bring meter sticks with us? I don't see why you wouldn't be able to bring any data with you. At every competition we've used a calculator during our ...

Re: Scrambler C
Yeah, 8 meters of track are used for the timing, from the .2 meter line to the 8.2 meter line we were able to get a run time of 1.4 seconds at state I don't think this time is possible. Because if my math is right that is a speed of 1278mph. Actually, once our car broke the sound barrier (1.6789 Mac...

Re: Scrambler C
Wow, with a run time of 1.4 seconds, I wonder what kind of stopping accuracy you have. Its got to be light and movin' fast so I imagine you'd have to factor in a lot of skid. We get around 3 seconds pretty consistently so we'd have to get over 8cm closer than you to compensate for a speed like that...

Re: Scrambler C
Early in the year we had a car that was running around 3 to 4 seconds. After a complete rebuild of the car and launcher, we were able to get a run time of 1.4 seconds at state (we started building the new launcher 5 days before the state competition

Re: Shock Value B/Circuit Lab C Question Marathon
I think ...|Since the charge on a charging capacitor, Q, can be modeled by Q=CV[1-e^(-t/RC)], to solve the problem, you would have to set that equation equal to half the final charge. The final charge is given by Q=CV so... 0.5CV = CV[1-e^(-t/RC)] After canceling out the CV from both sides.... 0.5 ...
