Re: Illinois 2011
Actually the biggest difference in helping the Div. C launch from the ground (other then it's landing gear
) is that a geared motor is allowed. Very big difference, the propeller will spin much faster.

Re: Electric Wright Stuff B/C [Trial]
The Science Olympiad website has resources that are fine. We purchased what we needed from the company recommendations on the site. I believe the motor we used was from the same company as one of your links (fleet130).
Correct we are in Div.B, C had landing gear and could use gears.

Re: Electric Wright Stuff B/C [Trial]
Just some info for the future.
Ray Harlan used gearing in his motor. This event requires, at this point a direct drive, so you'll never get it flying that fast.
There is plenty of products on the market to build this event and be competitive BTW.

Re: Illinois 2011
I'm sorry for the misunderstanding regarding e-Wright Stuff. We had gotten a medal in this event, however there was a problem with one of the flights (it's an average of 2), we were way off mark. I just wanted to see the scores to judge how much better we could have done should we not have had a ...

Re: Illinois 2011
Well Avogadro adertises the site as online scoring, which would be raw scores. Illinois state competition is over, so why wouldn't they post them. They haven't even put up the Illinois regional scores (except the short period of time, before they locked them). I've e-mailed and PM'd the moderators ...

Re: Illinois 2011
I've been checking on the Avogrado site, which appears to be a joke, and there's nothing new-ever.
Does anyone have information, regarding the final scoring at State? I'm primarily interested in middle school divisions.

Re: Battery Buggy B
Are you able to reduce weight? We did so, after invitationals by 17%.
Where is your balance point?
Does your vehicle skid straight?
What type of wheels are you using?
