Re: tower tips for a first timer
Our students built their first tower for an invitational this weekend. The tower is not perfectly level. Therefore the chain might be touching the base of the chimney. Will they get disqualified for "9. Clearance to fit Loading Block and chain"?
Thanks a lot for clarification.

How to assign events to avoid scheduling conflict?
Dear all,
New coach head coach here. Last year, I got a color coded event matrix so I know each student can only participate in one event of the same color. For example, Anatomy and Experimental Design is the color, next group is WIDI, Dynamic Planet and Optics....

Re: Flying Bird B/C [Trial]
Will the official rules be used to judge the demo event? It sounds like only flying time matters from reading the updates on the NSO website.
Do we need to sign up for this event or it is open all day.

Re: Travel logistics
Interesting, looks like lots of teams will come on charter buses. We finalized our flight to Miwaukee. Now trying to decide whether to rent a car or charter a van to Madison. Price is about the same. Does anyone know if a car is necessary? Looks like we also have to pay for parking.

We are a new team qualified for the Nationals. Most of families will fly to WI. How do teams get their equipment, especially the trebechet, there?
I am also trying to make arrangement for charter bus Wednesday evening from Milwaukee to Madison. Any team interested in sharing a ride?

Re: Will the rule change at the National?
Will the rules change again at the National? We tried very hard to make accurate chart. But the projectile given was not perfectly balanced. So it always lean to the side. No team hit the target that day.
it is VERY unlikely that such a clarification will be in place at nationals. We already ...

Will the rule change at the National?
Our team qualified for the National. At our State tournament, we got this notice about 2 weeks before the tournament day

Re: Storm the Castle B
If your arm is bending as you pull the arm back I do believe that that wold violate the energy rule as a compressed or stretched elastic solid. However if your arm is straight when in the ready to launch position it is legal, and if the arm bends during lauch it is also legal.
I am not sure what ...

Re: Storm the Castle B
I have a question about the energy rule. Our team uses a carbon fiber arrow as the long side of the arm. It would bend a little when the counterweight is more than 2kg. Another member of our school team questioned if that is against the energy rule. Here is the complete quotation of the energy for ...
