Me: The exit is... North!
My partner: ... and where is North?
Me: *shamefully pulls out compass while everyone else in the building stares*

Re: Why are there so many boys and so few girls in Middle school competitions?
My school's div C scioly team had 11 boys and 4 girls (including me). On average, the girls didn't perform any worse *cough cough* than the boys, but I noticed while trying out that there were just proportionally less girls who tried to make the team to begin with. There are 50% girl captains, I ...

Re: Those moments you will never forget!
1. Partner guessing all the MCQs right for microbe
2. Forgetting to fill out the last page of DP, leaving early once we realized we knew nothing else left anyway, somehow medaling in states with that

Nov 16, 2023 at 6:50 pm. I joined the day I first made the scioly team, right before dinner and after studying! I figured that I was going to be on here enough to warrant the account >~<

Re: Science Olympiad is really unfair. (Small rant)
That situation definitely sucks. Though, I'd like to point out that even schools perceived as more "rich" don't always provide all the resources for competitors either. Most schools I know at least require those with study events to pay themselves if they want extra study materials such as anatomy ...

I play the piano (Fantaisie-Impromptu finally passable!) and figure skate mainly, but this year I've also gained an interest in ceramics ^-^

Re: Should i be worried about states?
Hey there! Medaling in any state always requires quite a bit effort, if that's what you're aiming for. However, it's definitely not out of reach even in your first year! My div C placement (this is my first year) in regionals was 9th, but I managed to medal at states in my main event, so good luck!!!

Re: Scioly Achievement List
Not mine exactly, but my MM partner guessed all 8 MCQs on an invi for one station and somehow got them all right. Multiple guess achievement at its finest, and I still insist that he took all my luck for guessing MCQs (bombed states send help)
