The bonus for state is given if the wing cord is less than 7 cm; the bonus for national is given if the wing cord is less than 6cm.

Thanks a lot. Can you give me more information on the "unofficial" Science Olympiad event at the US Indoor Championship in Johnson City, TN? Or the rules are pretty much the same as the official science olympiad?

Unfortunately, my daughter's school did not make the national this year. Hope next year they can do better.

Littleboy,

Our school won the regional with 2 min 59 sec, and that is in a 23 ft gym. I think for MI state competition, with 25 ft gym, the winner will be 3 mins +.

Since state competition has bonus, a bonus wing can get a flight time over 3:30. We once made a bonus wing that does not climb very ...

What happened to my daughter's airplane in the Illinois State Science Olympiad Competition was very peculiar. My daughter's plane was definitely the best in the practice round. We went to UIUC (the same location as National) on April 9 and got there at around 7:00PM. They had three wings made, two ...

I think the national competition winning flight time will be around 6 minutes this year.
