Re: Write It Do It B/C
I agree with Starapollo1. Don't let it get to your head or you'll just end up freaking out and doing worse. Sometimes, things just happen. For example, at our state competition, the bottom of the structure was completely tapped down so we couldn't see it, we weren't allowed to go within four feet of...

Re: Experimental Design B/C
Thanks. And we won't. Please don't be too alarmed. Our team is simply rather argumentative by conception--we've all been friends for years and years. I guess it's just part of our thinking process or something. My point is just that while statistics and trends are much easier to do for line graphs, ...

Re: Experimental Design B/C
We've had some graphing trouble too. One of the guys on my team is out "math man" who does all the graphing and we're always arguing with him at the beginning of our experiments about whether or not he can graph what we want to try to do. That said, we've ever had a problem with bar graphs...

Re: Write It Do It B/C
Speaking of "random" building materials, what is the strangest Write It Do It strucuture you have ever worked with or heard of.
For example, years ago, for the South Carolina state competition the structure was made entirely of toothpicks and different sized marshmellows.

I'm not sure. I guess it really depends on the test. If it's a state-type test, I'll know all but one or two, but if it's a national-type test, I might know half or so.zoproeg wrote:On average, how many words on a test do you NOT KNOW at all?

Re: Picture This C
I remember making tons of flashcards and stealing tons of college science books just to read through the glossaries. If anyone just wants to practice some science vocabulary (or any kind really) and help the world while they're at it, http://www.freerice.com/subjects.php is a great site to check out...

Happy Halloween, y'all! I'm enjoying Science Olympiad practice and trying to come up with an awesome costume. Got any good science-based dress-up ideas?

Re: Instruments?
I used to play piano and I still dapple in it a bit, but mainly I play flute. And I'm in a hand bell/hand chime choir.
