Re: Ecology B/C

I’m actually really fed up about this event in general; even the best of the tests (MIT, Golden Gate) end up being nothing more than fact recall when there’s so much opportunity for more ... if I end up supervising for Water Quality next year, I’d hope to include more case studies that involve ...

Re: Ecology B/C

The Kansas City Regionals exams -- both B and C divisions -- have been uploaded on the Test Exchange!

I wrote the exams, so comment here with any questions about the test, and I'll answer them.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C

Does anyone know if we will need to make formulas with isostasy to calculate density/weight etc of continental crusts or anything of the sort? also, if anyone has info on "f. Continental drift's role on opening and closure of ocean gateways and land-bridges, with specific reference to ocean ...

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C

Thank you pettywap and knottingpurple! I admittedly have been stalking the DP forums hahah what fun (read: I'm crying) and noticed someone else posted a question similar to mine. Seeing how no one responded, I was hopping if I prodded some more, a knowledgeable one would enlighten us all. Is there ...

Re: Water Quality B/C

There's surely a difficulty level difference between the two divisions though, right? If that makes sense ...

During my time participating in Science Olympiad, I have worked on creating what I think would be the perfect event. I would like to push for this event to enter the official Science Olympiad scene this year if possible.

Event supervisors and tournament directors, I would love to get your feedback ...

Re: Science Olympiad 2012

Will Water Quality still be on freshwater next year, or will it switch to estuaries? I understand that it will rotate between these two and oceanography, but does it switch every year or every two years?

The BMIs (macroinvertebrates) and nuisance species that we have to identify live in ...

Re: Water Quality B/C

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between midge larvae and blood midge larvae? I'm not even sure if I understand what a blood midge even is. Is a blood midge just a midge in the family of Ceratopogonidae?

If preserved, a blood midge will eventually loose its color and it will be ...
